15 Best Travel Destinations Inspired By Instagram

Instagram can be a major source of wanderlust — embrace it! Take a cue from these incredible travel photographers and book a trip to swim in Fiji or relax in a hot pool in Oregon. Whatever your taste, there’s something for every jetsetter.

Lake Hillier, which resembles the pink bubble gum you used to have as a kid, is found in Western Australia and is about 1,969 feet long. Though the cause of the color is still unconfirmed, scientists believe a bacteria that lives in the salt crusts has created a pink dye and is the cause of the vibrant color.

If you love the great weather, delicious food, diverse crowds and colorful backdrops of Southern California, show your love at the famous “Love Wall” in Culver City. The mural was created by artist Curtis Kulig, who started the “love” mural campaign featured in different cities such as Paris and Berlin, according to Los Angeles Magazine.

It’s crystal clear why Fiji was recently selected as a destination to shoot the 2017 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue: It is filled with sights that promise to stun. If you love the outdoors, Fiji is beckoning you to play a round of golf at Natadola Bay or to rent a surfboard and hit the water. Or, of course, if you’re anything like this Instagrammer, you can swim with stingrays (eek!).

Gaze at the stars and ponder the universe at this magical spot in Chile. Known as “Cordillera de la Sal,” these salt mountains in the Atacama desert were formed millions of years ago and molded by the rain, wind and sun, according to Explore Atacama. While in the area, check out the otherworldy Altiplantic Lagoons, which are located in the heart of the Atacama desert.

Cuba was once off-limits to Americans, but (as we’re sure you’ve heard) Americans can now book a flight and explore the best Havana has to offer. Observe the beautifully colorful buildings in the city, and take an hour to be awed by the stunning campus of the historic University of Havana(one of the first colleges to be founded in the Americas in 1728). Oh, and of course, rent a classic 1950s car.

Head over to this impressive park located in Ontario, Canada for a soothing kayak ride through incredibly reflective lake waters. The park is filled with both deciduous forests and coniferous forests, offering an incredible expanse of plant and animal life (including black bears!), according to the official Algonquin Provincial Park website.

Chances are, this destination with nearly two miles of waterfalls isn’t on your travel bucket list…. yet. Iguazú Falls is a must-see if you’ve ever wanted to visit Argentina, or if you are simply entranced by the natural wonders of the world. Located on the border of Brazil and Argentina, the waterfalls are 1.7 miles long and 269 feet tall, making them the largest system of waterfalls in the world.

Good morning from the Philippines 💦

Care to visit a hidden paradise? Try the Philippines — we suggest the municipality of Badian Cebu in particular. Dip into the refreshing water and swim near waterfalls, or purchase beaded necklaces and bracelets at local shops.

Visit Lake Resia if “walking on water” is something you haven’t done just yet. A tower is the only thing that remains of a Graun, a town that was flooded more than 60 years ago after a power company decided to build a giant artificial lake. During winter, the water freezes and tourists can walk straight to the tower.

Portland tends to be the hotspot destination in Oregon, but to truly get away and relax, you’ll want to visit the Umpqua Hot Springs in Glide, Oregon, above the North Umpqua River. At the site, there are three hot pools plus campsites and picnic tables — and a decent (or indecent?) number of naked tourists. Viva la vida.

If you’re looking for a spiritual retreat, then search no further than Pura Tirtha Empul, the Hindu temple located in Manukaya, where locals go to cleanse themselves in the sacred waters. Tourists must respect the bathing ritual by asking for permission before partaking in it themselves.

People often say to take the road less traveled, but in this case (and for the perfect photo op), we suggest you take the famous Lauterbrunnen road. The road is located in Bern, the capital city of Switzerland, specifically in a valley in the Alps. Its surroundings include beautiful mountains, greenery, waterfalls and meadows.
